DESK - CHALK BOARD/PEG BOARD

In the early 1970s, probably 1974-1975, I had a small desk. I believe it was a plastic seat (green maybe) connected to the desk. The desktop was a chalk board - maybe a magnet board as well. Inside, I think the botton of the desk was a pegboard, and it had colorful plastic pegs and a little hammer. I want to say it was by Playskool - but not sure. Does this sound familiar to you?

DOLL - BABY FIRST STEP TALKING

I have a doll that has an imprint on her back of 1964 4 Mattel and she is in poor condition and I have been looking for one like her. I assumed she is Baby First step the only thing different is she has a string that you pull and I think she used to talk. DOLL - 1950's

I am looking for a doll I was given in 1955-1957. Very small doll--probably no more than 8'' long- She had a hard head and molded hair. Her head and face were shiny--almost porcelain looking-but I don't think she was-- She had deep blue eyes that opened and closed. She had an opening in her mouth and I believe she cried when you fed her--she had beautiful rosy cheeks. Her body was plastic. Was bought at a Ben Franklin's store in Texas- Any info you might know about this doll would be so greatly appreciated. She was given to me by my grandmother and she was lost when we moved. Thanks very much for your help. Judy

She has a tuft of hair, possible yarn or maybe a bow at the top of her forehead. She has a wind up on her back. I believe she played music, I am not sure if her head moved. She was probably 9 inches tall. I have a picture of a picture if that helps. Thanks for your help. Kim

DOLL - 1970'S to 1980'S

I am looking for a baby doll that I had sometime in very late 1970's to early 1980's. She had the same scent to her as the berenguer babies do. Also she had a rotating head likeThumbelina except she was not wind-up or pull string, she used batteries. The battery compartment was in her lower back. Her middle body was stuffed cloth. I am not sure if her arms, legs and head were vinyl, rubber, or plastic. Her hair was a very soft molded type not the hard molded. Her skin coloring was a darker more brownish white. She may have been oriental, but not sure. Very vaguely do I remember her original clothes, white knit two piece with pink trimming and white booties with pink ribbon. I can't find her anywhere! I would at least like to know who made her and maybe her name.

DOLL - 1980's

I have been trying to find out some more information about a doll that I have grown up with since I was about 2 (1980's onwards) I was given this toy for Christmas in the early 80's I believe and cannot find any marking on her to identify who made her or any thing about her. She is about 40cms in length, is made from dark orange plastic. Her eyes look like glass marbles and her eyes shut when you lay her down. She has curly blonde rooted hair and original came with a blue jacket as I recall. There is no other color to her face and her nose and mouth have no holes in them but are solid features. If you could help me with any information I would be eternally grateful. Your hopefully, Joanne

DOLL - 1980's

i have a doll that i got as a child in the early 1980's. I am trying to find out what she was called and where she came from. She has a plastic or vinyl head, arms and legs and a soft body. her head is completely plastic and bald except for a small patch of hair that is simply yarn. Her eyes close when you move her and they have tiny stars at the top corners of her eyes. There is nothing on her that tells me what she is. on the back of her neck are the letters : b.b. and underneath them it says made in spain. I have been told that she was dressed in a suit when i got her, and her hair/yarn was pink. Her name is baby cindy, but i am not sure if i named her that of if that was her name. I am very interested in finding out where she came from. please e-mail me back, thank you, Rachael

DOLL - 1980S BABY

I'm looking for a doll I loved that was given away when I was still young. I got it in the early 1980s. It was a baby doll, I think soft plastic face/hands but maybe a cloth body. It was in a white dress with white lace and a white bonnet. It didn't "do" anything (although I think the eyes may have opened and closed, but I'm not sure) and it was probably between 11 and 20 inches. If you know what this doll was called, and whether I could find one anywhere, I would love to know.

DOLL - AMPUTEE

This may seem like an odd question, but in a few postings on various newsgroups, the idea of amputee dolls was mentioned. I know there are such things as a Cabbage Patch doll with crutches and leg braces, and a Barbie doll in a wheelchair (which I understand is enormously popular), but I wonder: if someone marketed an amputee fashion doll, i.e., with a prosthetic hook on one arm. Would enough therapists and doctors be interested in them to justify a production run? It would be somewhat helpful to an amputee child's self-image to have a doll that child's self- image to have a doll that is not meant to look freakish, but very much the reverse. Am I on to something here? Please let me know.

DOLL - AMPUTEE - RESPONSE - DR. TOY

There is an organization called LEKOTEK; they would be in a good position to be of assistance on this. They are in Evanston, Illinois. 1-800-366-8697

DOLL - ANIMAL FIGURINES

I am having trouble remembering the name of a toy line from the 1980's. They were little anthropomorphic animal figurines/dolls with moveable arms and legs and heads. Her body is light pink, her hands are skin tone, the bottom of her feet are white, her hat or bonnet is white with flowers on it. That is all sewn together and attached to a plastic face. She has a bib that is white with a rocking horse and a circle around the rocking horse. I would like to find another one. Please help! Jolee.

Looked on eBay and it seems no one has ever had the doll...it was a great doll though. I think they might have only made it for one year since it was kinda heavy. Holly

DOLL - BABY HEATHER

I have a 1987 Baby Heather doll. The parts that move her neck broke 16 years ago and she has been in storage since then. That doll looked like Velvet but had red hair and was called Crissy. In 1989 I purchased two dolls from Pic n Save. These dolls were two of five different ones. The dolls had a variety of handicaps (blind with a dog, amputee with wheelchair, deaf with hearing aids, braces on legs, and another amputee with crutches). Each doll came with an iron-on of the group of dolls and it said Hal's Pals. The dolls are soft sculpture and came in a plain brown cardboard box. The only referance to these dolls I can find is through Easter Seals in Ohio. I know they are used to teach children about different handicaps, but I know nothing else about them. I would like to find out as much as I can about them. I have the deaf ballerina and the garden party girl with leg braces.

You probably already had a dozen answers to your question - but I believe the doll (depending on her height) is either Tiffany Taylor (taller version) or Tuesday Taylor (smaller Barbie-size version - she had a blue bathing suit and white skirt). Christopher.

DOLL - IDEAL TOYS - 1974 - RESPONSE

I'm pretty sure it's a "Tiffany Taylor" doll. I had one as a pre-teen too at about the same time. You can turn her scalp to change her hair color from blonde to brunette, right? I think she was put out as a competitor for Barbie. I'm not any kind of expert or anything but I remember that doll clearly. Hope that helps, Lisa.

DOLL - IDEAL TOYS -1974 - RESPONSE

She is Tiffany Taylor made in aprrox. 1973-1976 and interestingly enough, she has differently painted faces depending upon the year of doll she is.

DOLL - IT'S A SMALL WORLD - VALUE

I have twelve dolls from Disney's It's A Small World, each one a different nationality, made by Spellman/Lipson in 1968. They are approximately seven inches tall. Each is in its original box and clear wrapping. Some of the boxes are a little battered and a couple of them have torn plastic shrink-wrap, but the dolls are in great shape. I would like to know their value. If it would help, I have pictures I can send. Thanks, Les.

DOLL - Jack & Jill

Hi, I have a set of Jack & Jill Dolls, still in the original box. I haven't seen them around in stores in years. I received them as a Christmas Gift in the 1960's. Where, or who should I contact to see if these dolls are of any value?

DOLL - JUMPSY

My favorite toy was a Jumpsy Doll. She could jump rope and not fall. I got her around 1971-1973. The most horrible thing happened to her; she was burned up in a fire. My mother never bought me another one, and toy stores don't carry her anymore. Thanks for listening. Vernice.

They are 16" tall. When Palitoy closed, Tiny Tears were made by such companies as Hasbro and Tonka. They are often avaialble on www.Ebay.com. Hope this helps, Tina.

DOLLS WITH SKATEs oN TRACK

Looking for the name of a toy that I was given in the late 1960' to early 1970's. It had a track like the hot wheels cars had, but these were little dolls the had skates. The skates were either already on or you put them on and they were able to go down the track. I know we always had the Sears and J C Penney's Christmas catalogs, so the toy may have came from one of these stores. I hope you can find out what the name of this toy was named. Thank you

DONATION OF TOYS FOR SICK CHILDREN

My husband is the Chaplain at a county. He is planning a program with toys to be given to sick children to ease their fears. There will be themes to this program. Examples include: Bears of Prayer and Heather the Heavenly Hedgehog. What companies might help?

DONATIONS

I am a senior at Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange New Jersey. Our school has become involved with the tomorrow's Children's Fund, a program that helps kids plagued with terminal cancer. Our school is involved in every activity that they sponsor. Every December they hold a breakfast with Santa. For the last three years our school has coordinated this event. Food is provided and the kids are kept occupied with games that students help coordinate. Some of our students dress up as elves to entertain the children. The kids get a picture with Santa, but they have never received presents. This year we thought it would be a good idea to hand out small gifts to the children from Santa. We want to hand out toys to these kids, because most of them are dying of cancer, and we don't want them to remember Santa just giving them a candy cane. I want to ask you if you know of any toy companies that are willing to help our cause. I am not asking for free toys; if we need to raise money it would be no problem. What I need are companies that will give us a discount on toys to give to these kids. This is a legitimate cause that will not benefit our school in any way. Everything will go to the tomorrow's Children's Fund. If you have any information, please e-mail. If you want to get in touch with my school, I will provide you with an address. Thank you for your time and patience in this matter. I hope to hear from you soon.

Could you tell me if some of the larger companies like Fisher-Price or Playskool ever donate toys to organization such as The Family Tree? If they do, could you please give me a suggestion on how to accomplish this goal? Thank you.

DOWNFALL

Downfall was a game for two that I played as a child in the early 1970's. It was made of plastic, and the goal was to move your plastic pieces from the top of the playing surface to the bottom, before the opponent on the backside of the game could do it. Is it made any more? Where could I get a used one? Thanks.
